As a newborn photographer in Newcastle, and as a mammy too, I know how precious those early days are. Whether it’s your first, second or third little one, welcoming a new baby is such a magical and emotional time for everyone. Honestly, time really does fly and they grow up so fast, which is why I do what I do.

Your newborn session at Little Somewhere lasts around 2–3 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and settling – because your baby’s comfort always comes first. Parents and sibling photos are included at no extra cost, so we can capture beautiful family moments too.

The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is when your baby is between 10–21 days old, while they’re still sleepy and naturally curled. For this reason, I recommend getting in touch during pregnancy to talk through options, styling ideas and to see whether a newborn session at my Northumberland studio is the right fit for you. Nearer the time of your shoot, you’ll receive a short questionnaire so I can fully prepare and make sure I know exactly what it is you’re looking for.

Before your session, you’ll also receive a parent preparation guide with simple tips to help you get the most from your photoshoot. On the day, we’ll take everything at your baby’s pace, allowing plenty of time for feeding, changing and comforting between poses.

Your baby’s safety is always my top priority. Throughout the session I carefully read your baby’s cues to ensure they are comfortable and secure at all times. I’m trained in newborn posing, so you can relax knowing your little one is in safe hands.

About your Newborn Photography session

To secure your session, I just ask for a £79 booking fee. You’re welcome to book a newborn session on its own, or pair it with a maternity shoot to enjoy a reduced session fee. Find out more about my Bump to Baby package here.

Around a week after your photoshoot, you’ll be invited back to the studio to see your fully edited gallery of at least 20 images. This is such a lovely part of the experience, you’ll get to relax, view your photographs on the big screen, and choose your favourites. You’ll also be able to explore my wall art options, so I can help you design a beautiful, custom display for your home.

When it comes to choosing your images and products, there’s no pressure at all. You don’t need to decide anything in advance - you’ll simply make your choices once you’ve seen your finished gallery. And even then, there’s no minimum spend or obligation to buy. You only purchase what you truly love.
